ASU: Former transfer was a special teams maven and provided depth at tight end...appeared in all 24 games during his two-year career at ASU and finished with 12 tackles (nine solo), a forced fumble and a fumble recovery...started and provided a spark on all special teams units...versatile athlete moved to tight end in 2009 after playing linebacker on the defensive scout team in 2008...previously attended Monmouth University, where he played running back for two seasons.
2010: Played in all 12 games...finished the season with eight tackles (five solo)...collected a pair of solo tackles Sept. 25 vs. Oregon...recorded his first career forced fumble on special teams against Oregon...made two tackles (one solo) vs. UCLA Nov. 26...recorded one tackle in four other games.
2009: Appeared in all 12 games of the season...appeared in his first regular season game Sept. 5 against Idaho State... made four tackles and recovered a fumble on special teams...he fell on the fumble Nov. 10 against Oregon.
2008: Did not see game action.
LAST COLLEGE: Attended Monmouth University and played for the Hawks for two seasons...played in 16 games as a running back and on special teams...totaled 91 yards on 21 rushing attempts and two touchdowns in his two seasons...appeared in 10 games as a true freshman in 2006...had nine rushes for 53 yards (5.9 avg.) and a touchdown that year...also had three tackles on special teams...team went 10-2 in 2006, winning the Northeast Conference title and appearing in the Division I-AA Mid-Major national championship game...played in six games in 2007, finishing with 12 carries for 38 yards (3.2 avg.) and one touchdown.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2006 graduate of Sparta (N.J.) High School...was named all-league and all-state for his junior and senior seasons... had 1,700 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns as a junior, and then rushed for 1,350 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior...selected to play in New Jersey vs. New York Governors Bowl in West Point, N.Y....in a state playoff game as a junior, he rushed for 272 yards and four touchdowns, including a 99-yard scoring run...was football team captain as a senior...also lettered in baseball, track and field and wrestling.
PERSONAL: Majoring in communications at ASU...parents are George (UPS driver) and Nancy Skorupka (teacher) of Sparta, N.J....has one brother, Matthew, who played football at Northern Michigan...born Dec. 24, 1987 in Newton, N.J....full name is Ryan Michael Skorupka.
