ASU:Promising cornerback who should compete for a starting job in the secondary this season...combines excellent speed and technique to be a well-rounded defensive back...has played in 23 of 24 games the last two seasons...also active off the field at ASU, he won a student senate seat for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 2009.
2009: Appeared in all 12 games...collected four solo tackles on the season...had a tackle in a victory over Louisiana-Monroe Sept. 19...recorded a tackle in three straight games, Oct. 10 vs. Washington State, Oct. 17 against Washington and Oct. 24 vs. Stanford.
2008: Played in 11 games as a reserve defensive back and on special teams...totaled six tackles (five solo) and one pass break-up on the season...made his collegiate debut and recorded his first career tackle in season-opening win over NAU on Aug. 30...had a tackle in victory over Stanford on Sept. 6...collected a tackle against Oregon on Oct. 25 and at Oregon State on Nov. 1...had a tackle and a pass break-up in shutout win over Washington State on Nov. 15...recorded a tackle in win over UCLA on Nov. 28.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2008 graduate of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nev....the first defensive commitment among ASU's 2008 class, pledging on June 25, 2007...playing cornerback, he is ranked as the top player at the position in the state of Nevada, No. 9 in the West region and No. 65 in the country by ESPN Scouts, Inc....combines excellent speed and technique to be a well-rounded defensive back...earned All-West Region honors as a senior by PrepStar...ranked No. 147 on Scout.com's "Top 150 Players in the West" list...listed as the No. 66 cornerback in the country by Scout.com...ranked as the No. 103 overall prospect and the No. 11 cornerback in the "California/Hawaii/Nevada 150" region by SuperPrep...rated as the No. 1 defensive back in the state of Nevada and the state's No. 7 overall player, as well as the No. 57 cornerback in the nation by Rivals.com...as a senior, he totaled 31 tackles (21 solo), eight pass deflections, three interceptions and a blocked field goal on defense, while carrying eight times for 56 yards and catching three passes for 44 yards in limited action on offense...also returned punts...was credited with 58 tackles with five interceptions and four fumble recoveries as a junior and 47 tackles with two interceptions and two fumble recoveries as a sophomore...chose ASU over Oregon and Stanford among others.
PERSONAL: Majoring in Political Science...parents are Eric Sr. and Kathy Jordan of North Las Vegas, Nev....father, Eric, played college football at Purdue University and was drafted by the NFL's New England Patriots...has two siblings, Eric Jr. and Jasmine...born Aug. 21, 1990 in Las Vegas, Nev....full name is Joshua Lawrence Jordan.
