Olympian Deb Rose is set to join the Arizona State beach volleyball program, which entered into its second season in the spring of 2015.
Rose has over 15 years of volleyball experience, and she started her career playing club volleyball in Minneapolis, Minn. After club competition she was a student-athlete at University of Alaska-Anchorage.
She moved back to Minnesota after graduating in 1984 and played in the Major League Volleyball, a professional indoor league that lasted three years. After her indoor career, she made her way to the beaches of California where she played 10 years on the WPVA (Women’s Professional Volleyball Association).
In 1996, Rose and her partner Gail Castro earned the last spot on the 1996 Olympic beach volleyball team where they placed 9th in the world. This was the first year for beach volleyball in the Olympics.
Rose works part time, and resides in Gilbert, Ariz. with her husband and two children, Marcus (12) and Ashley (9).
