- Saw limited action in reserve duty, recording two hits with a double in the shortened season
- Played in 79 games over three varsity seasons at Corona Del Sol in Tempe, though the majority of his action came in hugely productive junior and senior seasons
- Finished with a .465 career prep average, recording 71 RBIs and 18 home runs with a monstrous 1.544 OPS
- Knocked nine homers (5th in the 6A division), 10 doubles and recorded a .458 average (14th in 6A) as a senior and helped lead Corona Del Sol to a runner-up finish at the Arizona 6A High School Championships
- Named to AZCentral's All-Arizona team and a finalist for the Arizona Player of the Year
- Had a breakout junior season in which he hit .472 (34-for-72) with nine home runs and 37 RBIs
- Showed his unique power at the plate, finishing 2018 in the Top-10 in the state with a 1.041 slugging percentage and helped lead his team to a 22-5 record, including a perfect 10-0 record in the 6A Central Section to earn a two-seed at the State Championship
- 2018 AZBCA 6A First Team All-State selection after a tremendous junior season
- Perfect Game slotted him as the No. 272 overall prospect and the No. 15 third base prospect in the country; tabbed as the No. 6 overall prospect in Arizona and the top third base prospect in the state by Perfect Game...Prep Baseball Report graded Kalmer as a shortstop, where he was classifed as the No. 5 prospect in the state at the position
- Named to 2018 National Underclass West Top Prospect List and Top Prospect Team after an impressive showing at the 2018 National Underclass West Showcase; member of the 2018 Reds Area Code Team; received Elite Batting honors at both the 2018 17U Perfect Game World Series and the 2018 18U WWBA West Memorial Day Classic, where he helped lead his team to the tournament championship; named to six All-Tournament Teams during the showcase/tournament circuit; 2018 PG Preseason Underclass All-American Honorable Mention.
- His sister, Taylor, played basketball for three seasons at Oregon State before transferring to San Diego State for her final season
