Junior (2020):
  • RJ Dabovich kicked off the 2020 season as the team’s closer and responded with four saves through the first month - tops in the Pac-12 and 11th nationally.
  • He appeared in nine games, posting a 0.77 ERA with 17 strikeouts in 11.2 innings pitched. 
  • Dabovich was at his best with two strikes on the board, holding opponents to 2-for-28 hitting with two strikes (.071). In 1-2 counts, opponents are 0-for-13 with nine strikeouts.
  • Opponents bat a paltry 0.81 against Dabovich this season. 
Sophomore (2019):
  • A pivotal addition to the Sun Devil rotation, recording a 7-1 record while recording three saves
  • Started nine games - the first eight games of the year and his final appearance in the postseason against Stony Brook - while appearing in relief in seven games
  • Struck out 47 batters to 26 walks in 53.0 innings pitched 
  • Escaped a no-out, bases loaded jam in extra innings at Cal to set up an eventual ASU victory
  • Recorded saves in his first three relief appearances on the season, picking them up against Washington, top-ranked UCLA and Arizona
  • Struck out a season-high six in wins against Xavier and Stony Brook - the latter in an elimination game in the 2019 postseason
Central Arizona College:
  • Finished his lone season at Central Arizona with a 9-3 record, boasting a 1.81 ERA in 69.2 innings pitched.
  • Drafted in the 18th Round (542nd overall) by the Kansas City Royals
  • Appeared in 15 games for CAC, starting 13 of them while striking out 63 batters
  • Helped the Vaqueros to a 45-13 record and a berth in the Region I Playoffs
  • Finished second in the ACCAC in victories and was exceptional at not allowing extra base as he allowed just one double and one home run on the season.
  • Earned a victory after going a season-best seven innings without allowing a run while striking out nine in a 5-2 win over Mesa Community College
  • In a 6-0 victory over Scottsdale Community College, he threw 6.2 scoreless innings, allowing just three hits while fanning seven 
  • Allowed two runs or less in 13 of his 15 appearances
  • Central Arizona has produced several former and current Major League players, including former Sun Devils Josh Spence and Ian Kinsler.
  • Touched 98 MPH on the radar gun with his fastball in the last game of the season
High School:
  • Enjoyed a brilliant prep career at Pubelo West High School in Pueblo, Colorado
  • Rated as the No. 9 overall player in the state of Colorado and the No. 5 right-handed pitcher in the state.
  • Listed as a Top-500 recruit nationally and a 2017 Perfect Game All-American.
  • In two varsity seasons, he registered a 7-2 record posting a 0.80 ERA in 69.2 innings pitched.
  • He recorded 94 strikeouts and held opponents to a .195 batting average
  • Helped lead his team to a 9-1 record in the 4A South Central Baseball League as a senior in 2017
  • Appearing mostly as a reliever during his junior season in 2016, he posted a miniscule ERA of 0.27 while recording a pair of saves
