Junior (2026)
- Leading into the 2026 Big 12 Tournament, Smaldino was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team.
- Since starting the game on the bench in ASU’s series finale at BYU (April 18). Smaldino has recorded multiple hits in eight of the last 11 games, homering in six of those.
- His 15 extra base hits in that span are ninth in the country and his nine homers are ninth. He has 24 RBIs is that stretch, which are 24th in the nation.
- On 5/10, in the series finale against Oklahoma State, Smaldino crushed three home runs, tying the ASU school record for most home runs in a game. The effort marked him as the first ASU player to achieve the feat in the BBCOR
era. His five homers in the series garnered him Big 12 Newcomer of the Week recognition. - As of 4/15, Smaldino’s 419.30 average home run distance is 12th in the country among players with at least five homers this year.
- Smaldino’s mammoth blast against Mississippi State at Globe Life Field was officially logged at 480.74 feet, the eighth-longest recorded homer by any Division I player this season and the longest recorded by a Sun Devil since 2019.
Prior to ASU (California)
- In his sophomore season at Cal in 2025, he led the team in RBI (48) and tied for the team lead in runs scored, while ranking second in home runs (11) and walks (24), and tied for second in doubles (12)
- Had a 23 game errorless streak from April 24 - May 6 and finished with a .989 fielding percentage overall with five errors in 464 defensive chances … Hit .417 and reached base in 9-of-16 plate appearances at the ACC Championships
- Played in 17 games during his freshman year with 11 starts … Hit .256 with six runs scored, three home runs, and six RBI
High School / Club
- Three-time letterwinner for the Lions and led team to back-to-back CIF Southern Section Division I Championships
- First-team Division 1 CIF and Scorebook Live All-Southern Section, as well as All Orange County selections as a 2023 senior, when he was also second-team All-Trinity League and a member of the Orange County All-Star Team
