REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2021)
- Made 37 starts for the Sun Devils on the year and appeared in 45 games – the majority of which coming in the outfield
- Appeared on the bump in five games for ASU with three starts, going 2-1 with a 4.50 ERA
- Homered four times with a triple and six doubles
- In his first career start on the mound (at Cal), Murphy was the first Sun Devil pitcher to hold an opponent to just one hit in at least 7.0 innings since Ryan Hingst’s no-hitter in 2016
- Since at least 1998, only 8 ASU pitchers have gone 7.0 innings with one or fewer hits and none did so in their first career start like Murphy
- Hit ASU’s first home run of the season against Sacramento State and scored ASU’s game-winning run in the opening game of the 2021 Austin Regional over Fairfield in a walk-off victory
OREGON STATE (2020)
- Made four appearances, all in relief.
- Did not record a decision and tallied a 6.23 ERA in 4 1/3 innings. Allowed six hits and three runs with five walks and three strikeouts.
- Son of long-time Sun Devil head coach and current Brewers bench coach Pat Murphy
- Four-year letterwinner for head coach Rob Gorrell at Red Mountain High School
- Ranked as the No. 12 prospect in Arizona by Prep Baseball Report. Rated as the No. 2 left-handed pitcher
- Played for the Reds team at the 2018 Area Code Games
- Earned all-conference honors in each of his four seasons at Red Mountain High School
- 2019 finalist for the Arizona Player of the Year by the Arizona Republic.
- Named 6A First-Team All-State by the Arizona Baseball Coaches Association (AZBCA) as a senior
- Batted .370 in 2019, with a .520 on-base percentage and .620 slugging percentage. On the mound, was 8-2 with a 1.90 ERA in 50 innings. Struck out 57 and tallied one save
- As a junior, batted .270 with three home runs and 20 RBI
- On the mound, in 2018, was 8-2 with a 1.80 ERA. Struck out 62 batters in 53 innings
