THE ASU VICTORY...
- Moves the Sun Devils to 26-15-1 all-time in the team’s first HOME Pac-12 game
- Improves ASU to 18-23-2 all-time in Pac-12 openers (overall)
- Makes ASU 9-3 in the all-time series over Colorado
- Is the first time ASU started Pac-12 play 1-0 under Herm Edwards.
- Gives ASU a three-game winning streak against Pac-12 schools dating back to last year. Second time under coach Edwards they have won three-straight in conference (Last time was in 2018).
- Jack Jones blocked a kick in the second quarter to keep the Buffaloes, the first blocked kick since Chase Lucas did so in the Sun Bowl victory over Florida State back on Dec. 31, 2019.
- Ricky Pearsall threw his first career touchdown pass in the fourth quarter, connecting with Rachaad White for a 30-yard touchdown pass.
- He is now 3-for-3 for 111 yards and a touchdown in his career and has one rushing and one passing touchdown this season.
- Arizona State finished with eight tackles for loss for the second consecutive game, giving them 6+ in each of the first four games. It is the first time since a four-game stretch in 2016 that they had accomplished the feat.
- Redshirt freshman defensive end Joe Moore had a career-best 1.5 sacks as a part of a three-sack effort for the Sun Devil defense.
- The 35-13 victory over Colorado moves ASU to 7-0 in the series when scoring more than 30 points.
- It represents the first win against Colorado would be the first since 2017
- The Sun Devils have allowed an average of 16.8 points allowed in victories over Colorado. Arizona State averages 40.5 points in those games.
- It is the first win over Colorado in the Herm Edwards era.
- Average margin of victory in ASU victories is 24.0 points against Colorado
GOLD RUSH
- The Sun Devils rushed for 167 total yards in the game - the ninth consecutive game reaching the tally dating back to the final game of 2019. The streak is the longest at ASU since a 12-game span between 1975-76.
- With four tonight, ASU has 29 rushing touchdowns over its last seven games - the most of any team in the FBS.
- ASU has held four straight opponents under 400 total yards of offense, the first time it has done so since holding five straight opponents under 400 total yards of offense in 2013 (COLO, UW, @WSU, @UTAH, OSU).
- With Colorado throwing for just 67 total passing yards, it is the second time this season ASU has held two opponents under 100 yards in the category (UNLV, 67). The last time ASU accomplished that twice in a season was 2012, though that includes a triple option offense in Navy in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl. It is the first time it has done so without a triple option offense in the schedule since 2006 (@Colorado, 86/Stanford, 66)
- ASU has held all four opponents this season under 250 passing yards, extending its streak in that category to seven straight games dating back to last season. That is the longest streak since ASU started the 2012 season holding its first seven opponents under 200 passing yards. ASU had an 11-game stretch across the 1991 and 1992 seasons.
- The Sun Devils held Colorado without a point for the first four possessions of the game, extending Colorado’s scoreless streak to 24 consecutive drives.
- ASU is one of just six remaining FBS teams to not allow a 40+ yard play this season.
DUAL THREAT
- Jayden Daniels continued his success both in the air and on the ground. He finished with 236 passing yards and 75 rushing yards, leading the Sun Devil offense to 35 points.
- It is the eighth time he has gone over 300 yards of combined rushing/passing yards in his career.
- He is now averaging 6.9 yards/rush this season after averaging 6.8 yards/rush over four games last season.
- Daniels connected with eight different targets, proving to be in sync with wide receivers Johnny Wilson and LV Bunkley-Shelton.
- They both had career-highs in receiving yards, catching four passes for 70+ yards.
THE PRICE IS WHITE
- Rachad White caught and received a touchdown on Saturday, with the rushing touchdown giving him six straight games with a rushing TD.
- White has multiple touchdowns in five of his eight games at ASU and has at least one touchdown in seven of his eight games with the Devils.
- White entered the game as the most targeted running back in the Pac-12 in the receiving game with five more targets than any other player in the league (15). He added six more targets to bring his season tally to 21. He now has 20 receptions on the year with five more on Saturday, increasing his Pac-12 lead in that category as well.
- White leads the team in both rushing (262) AND receiving (187) yards.
BALANCED ATTACK
- ASU has had over 250 passing yards and 150 rushing yards in each of the last two games, the first time they accomplished the feat since back-to-back wins over UTSA and Texas Tech in 2017.
- With the 311 passing/rushing yards by Jayden Daniels, he surpassed 5,000 in his career (Currently at 5,288).
- After a seven-tackle performance by Darien Butler, he eclipsed the 200-career tackle mark (Currently at 202).
- On his first career touch, Elijhah Badger ran for a 17-yard touchdown.
