THE SERIES (ASU LEADS 10-4)
CU 27, ASU 24 (OCT. 7, 2023)
Under a blue sky in Tempe -- and despite Trenton Bourguets' 335 passing yards -- Sun Devil Football (1-5, 0-3 Pac-12) outgained the Colorado Buffaloes (4-2, 1-2 Pac-12) by nearly 100 yards but fell 27-24 in front of a sold out crowd at Mountain America Stadium. Bourguet made his second consecutive start and completed 65 percent of his passes, accounting for 85 percent of the Sun Devil's 395 total yards of the game. He added his first career rushing touchdown on a two-yard sneak in the first quarter. It marked the second time as a starter that the redshirt junior has thrown for at least 300 yards in back-to-back games. Elijhah Badger had 124 receiving yards and hauled in 12 receptions.

ASU 42, @CU 34 (OCT. 29, 2022)
Trenton Bourguet set a Sun Devil record for most yards in a first career start, finishing with 435 yards and three touchdowns on 32-of-43 passing as Arizona State (3-5, 2-3 Pac-12) defeated Colorado, 42-34, on Saturday evening in Boulder, Colo. Jaylin Conyers became the first Sun Devil tight end in program history with three touchdown grabs in a single game and finished with six catches for 108 yards. Elijah Badger added eight catches for 137 yards. X Valladay reached the prestigious 4,000-yard rushing mark for his career, adding three touchdowns on the ground and finishing with 118 yards. Colorado had closed the gap to 35-20 and was driving with momentum late in the third quarter, but Chris Edmonds was not fooled on a flea-flicker and picked it off to swing the pendulum back in the Sun Devils' favor.

@ASU 35, CU 13 (SEPT. 25, 2021)
a right-handed strike from … Ricky Pearsall, the wide receiver who had attempted just two career passes entering the game. Up 21-10 in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter, Jayden Daniels flicked a pass just behind the line of scrimmage to Pearsall, who baited the defense, then relayed it back across field to Rachaad White, who used an escort of blockers to scamper 30 yards for a touchdown. The pesky Buffaloes had made it as close as 14-10, but the Daniels-Pearsall-White connection was the exclamation point that stamped a 35-13 win against Colorado in the Pac-12 opener at Sun Devil Stadium.

CU 34, @#24 ASU 31 (SEPT. 21, 2019)
Colorado led 14-0, 21-14, 24-21 and 31-24, then ASU forced ties at 14, 21, 24 and 31, but Steven Montez's 23-of-30 night for 337 yards was too much to overcome for ASU. Jayden Daniels tossed for 345 yards on 24-of-39 but CU converted 10-of-17 third downs and had an 11-play, 57-yard drive to win it on a 44-yard field goal by James Stefanou.

@#21 COLORADO 28, ASU 21 (OCT. 6, 2018)
ASU had leads of 7-0, 14-7 and 21-14 but Colorado racked up 494 total yards and had 78 plays compared to ASU's 58 in the Buffalo win. Trav McMillian had 136 yards on 30 carries and Lavis Shenault had 13 catches for 127 yards as Colorado moved to 5-0. Eno Benjamin had 120 yards on 28 carries with two touchdowns.

@ASU 41, COLORADO 30 (NOV. 4, 2017)
ASU exploded in the fourth quarter to muscle past Colorado 41-30 for its 600th win. Demario Richard had 141 of his 189 rushing yards in the fourth quarter. Despite coming into the game a little hobbled, Richard felt the importance of the game when it got tight late. “In the fourth quarter, I already know what time it is when the game is close, I know my teammates depend on me in the fourth quarter,” said Richard. “That is why I work my tail off in practice.” Manny Wilkins had a 25-yard dart that found Kyle Williams in the back of the end zone giving the Sun Devils a 17-14 lead heading into halftime and he ended the night with 297 total yards of offense and three touchdowns. “Our mindset was to just take what the defense gave us,” Wilkins said. “When you keep picking away, eventually they will give you the game. That is why nobody was panicking when we got down 10-0 early.”

@COLORADO 40, ASU 16 (OCT. 15, 2016)
Despite Zane Gonzalez setting more records, ASU fell to Colorado 40-16. Gonzalez’s kicked through three field goals of at least 50 yards including a 59-yarder. That 59-yard field goal gave him the ASU record for the longest field goal and is the second longest at Folsom Field only behind Mason Crosby’s 60-yarder in 2004. ASU totaled just 199 yards of offense while being forced into eight three-and-outs. Defensively, ASU was not able to handle Colorado’s efficient offensive attack as they gave up 580 total yards. Philip Lindsay went crazy rushing for 219 yards while adding three touchdowns. Coach Todd Graham spoke about his defense after the game. “We did not play very well and my hat goes off to them because they ran the ball on us unlike anyone has ever run it the whole time I have been at Arizona State.”

@ASU 48, COLORADO 23 (OCT. 10, 2015)
Mike Bercovici’s five TD passes led ASU past Colorado 48-23 for their seventh straight victory over the Buffs. After upsetting No. 7 UCLA the previous week, ASU was not interested in having a let down as they kept the Colorado offense in check. Arizona State defensive end, Antonio Longino, had eight total tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. Todd Graham spoke about Longino’s ability to pressure the quarterback. “He is coming off the edge most of the time, so it is something he does pretty well and we have and we have adapted what we are doing to what he does well. So, I think he has played really well.” The Sun Devils sacked Colorado quarterback Sefo Liufau eight times as they improved to 21-9 in Pac-12 South games since 2012.

ASU 38, @COLORADO 24 (SEPT. 13, 2014)
Despite Taylor Kelly going down, D.J. Foster and the #16 Sun Devils held on for a 38-24 victory vs. the Buffaloes on the road. ASU, now 3-0, scored on its first possession of the game when D.J. Foster had a 15-yard touchdown run. Foster accounted for 206 of ASU’s 426 total yards of offense and has 13 touchdowns in his last eight games. “I thought out team had a lot of passion and that is what I wanted to see,” Foster said. “Our team bonded together. " Meanwhile, Taylor Kelly went down with a leg injury in the second half. Mike Bercovici, a junior from Calabasas, California, took over the quarterback position for the Sun Devils and only had to throw the ball four times. “All I know is he is out tonight and we will evaluate it tomorrow," Arizona State coach Todd Graham said after the contest. “It was tough for us tonight, that is part of it. You have to be able to respond.” ASU now has gotten on the board first in 24 of 30 contests under Coach Graham and are 19-5 in such games.

@ASU 54, COLORADO 13 (OCT. 12, 2013)
ASU scored an absurd 47 points in the first half as they clobbered Colorado 54-13. With a clear advantage in time of possession and no turnovers, Taylor Kelly did not have much pressure put on his shoulders. He threw for 233 yards and registered for three total touchdowns. Marion Grice ran for two more touchdowns as he stretched his nation-leading touchdown total to 15. Grice has found the end zone 21 times over his past nine games. Mike MacIntyre, Colorado coach, praised ASU’s offense: “They made a lot of plays on us. We did not execute as well as we would like in the first half and gave them a short field a few times and it kind of got out of hand there early.” After 10 games at home under Todd Graham, ASU has averaged 45.8 points per contest, including a 62 point outing against USC this season.

ASU 51, @COLORADO 17 (OCT. 11, 2012)
Taylor Kelly was too much for Colorado as ASU pulled away 51-17 in Boulder. Kelly and Marion Grice hooked up for three touchdowns, but Kelly wasn’t done there. He also connected with D.J. Foster and Richard Smith for touchdowns giving him 16 passing touchdowns on the year.  When he wasn’t completing screen passes, he was keeping the ball and running for equally big gains. Kelly had 14 rushes for 67 yards. Colorado Head Coach, Jon Embree, spoke about Kelly after the game. “I think Taylor does a good job of playing within the system, I said that last week he plays well within the system and doesn’t force things.” Despite only leading 20-17 at halftime, the Sun Devils ramped up their level of play on both sides of the ball coming out of the locker room. In the second half, ASU’s defense had one interception and held Colorado to six punts. Sitting at 5-1, ASU has won three straight games heading into their clash next week against #2 Oregon.

@ASU 48, COLORADO 14 (OCT. 29, 2011)
Led by Brock Osweiler, No. 21 ASU maintained control of the Pac-12 South by thumping Colorado 48-14. ASU mauled Colorado in every aspect of the game, jumping out to a 21-point advantage in the first quarter. With Cameron Marshall finally healthy, he showed off his nose for the end zone by recording three touchdowns. Marshall had 114 rushing yards on 15 carries. “Bye week helped a lot,” Marshall said. “I am feeling great right now, probably the best I’ve felt all season.” Brock Osweiler was efficient as well adding 307 yards through the air and tossing two touchdowns. The Buffaloes just couldn’t stop Osweiler’s passing as Colorado suffered its 22nd straight road loss. Osweiler reflected after the game, “We are very determined to meet our team goals. Regardless of our opponent we are going to be ready to go and today I think we showed that."

@ASU 33, COLORADO 14 (SEPT. 8, 2007)
Despite a slow start, the Sun Devils finished fast on Saturday by taking care of Colorado 33-14. Less than a minute into the game, Terrence Wheatley picked off Rudy Carpenter and returned it 35 yards for a touchdown. Later in the quarter, as ASU was about to hold the Buffaloes to a field goal, Morris Wooten was called for jumping over the center’s back, resulting in a 10 yard touchdown pass subsequently from Cody Hawkins to Scotty McKight. ASU had 12 penalties for a total of 136 yards. “I thought we played very sloppy," Dennis Erickson said. "I’m just really disappointed in the penalties. There’s no excuse for that.” After a 26-yard interception return for touchdown by Troy Nolan and Carpenter dishing out two touchdown passes late in the second quarter, the Sun Devils were sitting in a good spot up 19-14 at halftime. The second half was all about sealing the game with defense for the Sun Devils as Colorado’s offense finished the game with two turnovers and only 204 total yards. After limiting San Jose State to a field goal in the opener, ASU’s defense put on a clinic for the second straight week. “We are just playing really well,” Erickson said. "The guys are flying around … We are tackling well."

ASU 21, @COLORADO 3 (SEPT. 16, 2006)
ASU won at Colorado's Folsom Field 21-3 in the first meeting between the schools. The better team won as the Sun Devil defense was too much for Colorado, forcing three turnovers and holding the Buffaloes to 214 yards, including only 86 through the air. Rudy Carpenter threw two touchdowns and managed the offense. “When we can win 21-3 on the road at a Big 12 school and not play our best on offense because Rudy doesn’t play his best, I think that says a lot about where we are,” Koetter said. "Rudy did not play his best tonight, but I think he’s still 7-1 (as a starter). I’ll take that guy as my quarterback any day of the week.”

9/16/06 – #22 #ASU’s offense sputtered at Colorado, but their defense played exceptional. Colorado hit a FG on their first possession but was shut out from then on out in a 21-3 ASU win. @rudygcarp12 threw 21-37-248. @HerringKeegan ran for 9-82 and @RyanTorain 18-80. #ForksUp pic.twitter.com/AdY9HBOfXe
