Player Bio: Michelle Smith



A staple in right field, Michelle started and played in 67 of ASU's 68 games last season, which saw her bat mostly leadoff where she went .266 at the plate while scoring 41 runs. She plated 16 RBIs while also posting three doubles and three triples, two of which came in a single game win over Stanford. Michelle also lead the Pac-10 in steals last season with 30, putting her third all-time in ASU single-season records behind former All-American Lisa Dacquistoand Kristen Farber. Her career total of 43 stolen bases places her fifth all-time in ASU history. Smith was also named to the Pac-10 All-Academic First Team last season.

Michelle graduated from College Park High School where she was the captain of her high school team in 2003. She earned all state honors in 2002 and in 2003, and was also selected her team MVP in both those years. For three years in a row she received All-East Bay first team honors by local newspapers and first team all league. The Kinesiology major was born on February 12, 1985 to Mark Smith and Noreen Grubb and has one younger brother, Kevin and one older sister, Jenelle.
