Kayla joined ASU after a stellar high school career at Calumet High School in Gary, Ind. where she was a 2009 graduate. Her softball career for the Warriors is littered with awards, including First-Team All Conference her sophomore through senior year and Second-Team All Conference her freshman year. Her senior year was phenomenal in itself as she collected the most steals in the state with 29 on the year as well as hitting .421 on the year, with six triples.
As stellar as she was on the field, she matched it in the classroom as well as she was a member of National Honor Society while graduating third in her class overall.
