Player Bio: YoVanna Rosenthal



At ASU: Speedy, aggressive guard who looks to make the most of her senior season...has worked hard to get better and become more consistent every year...brings a spark on defense and in transition...has a good three-point shot and has worked very hard on her offensive game...one of three players from the state of Arizona on this year's roster...was a Maroon & Gold Scholar-Athlete last year.

2004-05: Played in 22 games...averaged 0.6 points, 0.6 assists and 0.5 rebounds in 4.6 minutes per game...shot 50.0 percent from the field (6-12)...scored a season-high six points on 3-of-4 shooting Dec. 3 against Alabama State...had five points, including her first three-pointer of the year, Feb. 24 vs. Washington...forced two steals in two games and grabbed two rebounds on four occasions...dished out a career-best four assists Dec. 4 against Gonzaga.

2003-04: Played in all 29 games...averaged 3.6 points and 1.4 assists in 9.4 minutes per game...finished third on the team with 32 steals...matched her career high with four steals vs. Binghamton on Dec. 6 and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Dec. 10...was named to the all-tournament team at the Wells Fargo Holiday Classic after averaging 9.5 points and 3.0 steals per game and shooting 50.0 percent from the field...averaged 7.4 points per game in the non-conference season, including a career-best 14 points Dec. 10 vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi...knocked down a career-best 3-of-5 three-pointers, scored 13 points and dished out four assists in ASU's season-opener vs. Akron...averaged 3.6 points and 2.2 rebounds in Australia...had 10 points, four assists, three steals and three rebounds in 23 minutes vs. the Sydney Flames.

2002-03: Won the team's Most Improved Award...saw action in 27 games, averaging 1.4 points and 0.8 steals in just 5.3 minutes per game...made a lot happen in limited minutes...improved as the season went on, averaging 3.8 points per game in the last five contests...tied for sixth on the team with 22 steals...scored a then career-best 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting to lead the team in scoring Feb. 22 at Arizona...also added an assist and two steals in 18 minutes vs. the Wildcats...had three points and a career-best five steals in nine minutes vs. Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the championship game of the Wells Fargo Holiday Classic on Nov. 30...dished out three assists to go along with four points and three steals in 13 minutes Dec. 20 at Akron ...had three points and two steals in just four minutes Dec. 27 at Stanford...had 11 games with at least one steal and seven with more than one.

High School: A 2002 graduate of Thunderbird High School in Phoenix...was named the 2002 Arizona Republic 4A Player of the Year...was also the Arizona Informant and Northwest Valley Player of the Year...earned Skyline Region Player of the Year honors in each of the last three years...was a four-time all-region selection...earned first-team all-state honors as a junior and a senior...led her team to a 30-1 overall record and the 4A Arizona state championship as a senior...averaged 14.0 points, 7.0 steals and 6.5 assists per game in 2001-02...was a nominee for the McDonald's All-America team...was a preseason Street & Smith's All-American...turned in a triple-double in a game vs. Moon Valley High School in her senior year with 25 points, 13 assists and 11 steals...turned in 11.2 points, 3.7 assists and 3.7 steals as a junior...guided her team to a 28-2 record, its second straight Skyline Region championship and its second straight trip to the semifinals of the state tournament in 2000-01... earned second-team all-state accolades as a sophomore...was an honorable-mention all-state selection as a freshman...earned four letters in basketball and served as a team captain in each of her last two seasons...also lettered in track...played for the Arizona Elite AAU team...was coached by Steve Burke.
