Player Bio: Brent Miller



ASU: Was the only Sun Devil to have played in all 37 games during the 2004-06 seasons, and had his streak snapped at 39 when he missed ASU's meeting with San Diego State on Sept. 15, 2007 due to injury...played in 47 career games with 22 starts...caught 43 passes for 526 yards and five touchdowns during his career...very reliable player that was equally effective as a blocker and as a receiver...was joined by younger brother and former All-American and current Oakland Raider Zach on the Sun Devil team for the 2004-06 seasons...started at the H-Back position for the Sun Devils in 2006 and was ASU's main tight end as a senior....a great athlete for his size with soft hands.

2007: Appeared in 10 games with nine starts on the year...was invited to participate in the 2008 Hula Bowl postseason all-star game...caught 22 passes for 211 yards (9.6 avg.) and one touchdown...caught three passes for 29 yards against Colorado on Sept. 8...hauled in three passes for 39 yards against Oregon State on Sept. 22...registered two receptions for 17 yards at Stanford on Sept. 29...caught two passes for 17 yards against No. 18 California on Oct. 27...totaled 45 yards on a game-high six receptions with an 11-yard touchdown catch at No. 5 Oregon on Nov. 3...caught two passes for 32 yards against rival Arizona on Dec. 1, including a leaping 28-yard reception.

2006: Played in all 13 games, starting the first 12 at H-back..did not start against Hawai'i in the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl due to formation...caught 11 passes for 173 yards (15.7 avg.) and one touchdown on the year...joined brother Zach, a 2006 Walter Camp All-American, as ASU's starting tight ends...had a 21-yard reception against Nevada...made a 25-yard, game-winning touchdown reception in overtime at Washington running a wheel route to the left corner of the endzone, catching the pass in stride from quarterback Rudy Carpenter...caught a career-high four passes for 81 yards (20.3 avg.) against Washington State...caught two passes for 28 yards at Arizona...earned Hard Hat Player recognition for his work in ASU's offseason strength and conditioning program, finishing in the top-10 in points.

2005: Played in all 12 games...caught seven passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns...had a season-high two catches for 13 yards against No. 5 LSU (Sept. 10)...had a career long 41-yard reception from at Oregon State (Sept. 24)...had a seven-yard touchdown catch versus Northwestern (Sept. 17) and a 19-yard scoring catch at Stanford (Oct. 22)...caught a two-point conversion pass from quarterback Rudy Carpenter to cap off the team's comeback victory against Rutgers in the Insight Bowl (Dec. 27).

2004: Played in all 12 games, starting one (at Oregon)...collected three receptions for 31 yards on the season...caught a two-yard touchdown reception in the season opener against UTEP...recorded a two-point conversion on an eight-yard reception against UCLA...hauled in one pass for a season-long 25 yards against Arizona.

2003: Redshirted...had knee surgery while the team was at Camp Tontozona.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2003 graduate of Desert Vista High School in Phoenix...rated as the No. 5 player in the state of Arizona by SuperPrep Magazine...rated as the No. 10 defensive end in the West by PacWestFootball.com... rated the No. 5 player in the state of Arizona by Rivals and the No. 16-rated tight end in the country...a member of The Tacoma News Tribune's "Western 100"...named first-team All-Arizona in 5A by The Arizona Republic...recipient of the Larry Gordon Award, presented by Phoenix Metro Football Magazine to the state's top linebacker...Gordon played at Arizona State...versatile player, played linebacker, quarterback, fullback, tight end, wide receiver and even served as a return specialist...Desert Vista Athlete of the year...Desert Vista Scholar Athlete of the Year...first-team all SouthEast Valley linebacker...first-team all-region linebacker and central region defensive player of the year...set school record in high jump at 6-6...earned all-region honors as a defensive back, recording 57 tackles during his junior campaign...was Desert Vista's Junior Athlete of the Year...named to the Super All-State first-team on defense by Phoenix Metro Football Magazine...started at quarterback the first four games of the season and rushed for 220 yards on 43 carries and threw two touchdowns...all-region honorable mention at quarterback as a sophomore...Desert Vista Sophomore Athlete of the year...helped lead Desert Vista to a 9-3 record...carried a 3.9 grade-point average...also lettered in track...was coached by Dan Hinds.

PERSONAL: Plans to pursue a degree in interdisciplinary studies...has aspirations of owning a small business...parents are Jaki and Thomas Miller of Phoenix...his parents are small-business owners...has a brother, Zach (21), and a sister, Kara (19)...Zach was an All-American tight end at ASU (2004-06) and a second-round draft pick of the Oakland Raiders in the 2007 NFL Draft...born June 25, 1984 in Tempe, Ariz....full name is Brent Robert Miller.
