A member of The Tacoma News-Tribune's "Western 100" (the Top 100 players on the West Coast)…PrepStar all-American and listed as the No. 10"Athlete" on the West Coast…one of the top players in the state of Arizona…named honorable mention all-Arizona by The Arizona Republic…member of the All-Informant team, selected annually by The Arizona Informant…one of 11 Arizonans to commit to ASU…had 40 tackles and six interceptions in six games as a senior…played free safety as a junior and collected six interceptions and 40 tackles in six games…suffered a broken fibula that prematurely ended his season…also had two touchdown receptions and one rushing touchdown on offense…three-year letterwinner in football…played quarterback, running back, wide receiver, safety and returned punts and kickoffs…lettered four times in basketball…played forward and center…made the City of Tempe all-Tournament team in 2000 and 2001…was the Most Valuable Player twice in basketball…won the Joe Selleh award in 1999-2000…lettered four times in track and field…competed in the 100, 200, high jump and relays…was all-city in the 200 in 2000…was the Athlete of the Year at McClintock as a freshman, sophomore and junior…cousin is former McClintock star Kenny Wheaton…played for coach Dick Baniszewski at McClintock High School.
