ASU: Injuries have impeded his progress … moved to cornerback prior to 1999 where he will compete for a starting role.
1999: Saw action on special teams and in nickel and dime packages ... played eight games … hampered by a mid-season hamstring injury ... recorded one tackle each against New Mexico State and Notre Dame … had surgery on his right knee after seven practices in Spring to reconstruct the knee and started the season at less than 100 percent and was held out of the season-opener … he suffered the injury while participating in a non-contact drill.
1998: Started all eight games he played in … made his first career start as a Sun Devil at safety in the season opener against Washington … posted one solo tackle and three assists … also had one pass deflection … posted a career-high nine tackles vs. North Texas … also had one tackle for a two-yard loss … matched the career-high with nine tackles against Notre Dame … also had one pass deflection … left the Stanford game with an strained left hamstring and did not return … missed the Washington State game before returning against California and garnering his only career interception … left that game with a left knee injury shortly after which ended his season.
1997: Played in 11 games, garnering nine tackles and forcing a fumble … picked up his first career tackles with two against New Mexico State … had a season-high three tackles vs. Arizona.
1996: Redshirted.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 1996 graduate of Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, San Francisco, Calif.… played running back and wide receiver… all-around athlete who played basketball and ran track… set school record in rushing with 982 yards as a sophomore… named MVP of the football team… co-captained the football team in 1995… team member of the WCL championship basketball team… ran the 100-meter dash in 11.4 and leaped 21' in the long jump… lettered three times in football and twice in track… lists best individual performance as rushing for 982 yards in 1993… coached in football by Phillip Freed.
