HIGH SCHOOL: A 2002 graduate of Granite Hills High School in El Cajon, Calif.…was a member of the SuperPrep Farwest team…PrepStar All-American who was rated as the No. 18 offensive lineman in the West…was also ranked as the No. 72 player in the Far West in SuperPrep in the preseason…received seven votes in the Long Beach Press-Telegram’s "Best In The West" rating…was a member of the Tacoma News-Tribune’s "Western 100" list (the Top 100 players on the West Coast)…runs a 5.0 forty-yard dash and bench presses 400 pounds…was first-team All-C.I.F., all-league and all-county as well as being named his team’s MVP as a senior…as a junior, earned second-team All-C.I.F. and first-team All-League honors and was Granite Hills’ offensive lineman of the year…recorded 186 pancake blocks his junior year…possesses a mean streak on the field…"I’m not exaggerating when I say that 75 percent of Jacob’s run blocks were pancakes, which wasn’t always good, because some times we’d ask him to come off his initial block and pick up a linebacker," Granite Hills coach Chris Caminiti said. "But he’d just drive the initial man into the ground. He’s the most aggressive player I’ve ever seen. There’s no doubt he’ll be a big-time lineman in college."
