ASU: Huge offensive lineman who was one of ASU's most consistent offensive performers the last two years...played in 48 games while at ASU...started the final 35 games of his career...twice earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 honors...former walk-on was awarded the Levi Jones Scholarship in 2006.

2008: Started all 12 games at right guard, the second consecutive season he has started every game at that spot...one of three ASU offensive linemen to start every game at the same position on the line during the season...was the lone senior and most experienced player among the Sun Devils' offensive linemen...was a PhilSteele.com third-team All-Pac-10 selection...helped protect quarterback Rudy Carpenter, who started every game during the season...was named the team's Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman at the year-end banquet.

2007: Started all 13 games at right guard...one of three ASU offensive linemen to start every game during the season...earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 honors...helped protect quarterback Rudy Carpenter, who started all 13 games during the season...helped block for an ASU rushing attack that produced a 100-yard rusher in five of the team's first seven games and six overall on the season...also helped Sun Devil running backs Keegan Herring, Ryan Torain and Dimitri Nance to all finish the season with 500 yards or more rushing.

2006: Played in 12 games, starting the final 10 at right guard...was one of ASU's most improved and sturdy offensive players...earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 honors and was presented ASU's Mike Bartholomew Most Improved Offensive Player Award at the team's year-end banquet...earned his first career start at No. 21 California on Sept. 23 in place of injured Stephen Berg and started the remainder of the season after right tackle Andrew Carnahan sufferend a season-ending injury against the Golden Bears...helped block for one of the Pac-10's most improved rushing teams, led by Ryan Torain becoming ASU's first 1,000-yard rusher since 2001...helped protect quarterback Rudy Carpenter, allowing Carpenter to start all 13 games...earned Hard Hat Player recognition for his work in the team's winter strength and conditioning program.

2005: Played in 11 games...one of only five freshmen on the roster to play in 11 or more games...earned significant playing time due to injuries among his fellow offensive linemen, and became a reliable reserve...only game in which he did not play was at Washington State.

2004: Redshirted as a member of the scout team.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2004 graduate of Mills High School in Milbrae, Calif....was named the Ocean Division Lineman of the Year as a senior...earned first-team all-league honors in 2003...was also an all-county selection...earned two letters in football...captained his team as a senior.

PERSONAL: Earned his degree (B.I.S., interdisciplinary studies) in December of 2008...parents are Sunia and Tina Fanaika of Milbrae, Calif....has two brothers, Manase and Andrew, and one sister, Lavinia...Andrew and Lavinia are twins and Lavinia is entering her junior season as a guard on ASU's women's basketball team...his mother, Tina, played volleyball at Fresno State University...lists playing video games as one of his hobbies...born April 9, 1986 in San Mateo, Calif....full name is Pauliasi Fanaika.
