HIGH SCHOOL: A 2001 graduate of Nogales High School in La Puente, Calif....massive offensive lineman who also played some tight end in high school...said he was being recruited by Coach Tom Osborne at Oregon and became more interested in ASU once Osborne took the job in Tempe...was the league champion in the shot put his last year...earned second-team all-league honors as a junior and senior...earned three varsity letters in football...also lettered three times in track & field (shot put and discus)...was a team captain two years in football and three in track...set the school discus record as a senior...was a first-team all-league selection and team MVP in track.
PERSONAL: Parents are Angilberto Carlos and Maria Perez...has three younger siblings, Aldo, Sonia and Oscar...his father is a chef...undecided on his major...lists his most exciting sports experience as playing in his first varsity football game as a high school sophomore...born August 24, 1983 in Glendale, Ariz.
