Player Bio: Julius Orieukwu



ASU: Tall, versatile lineman who improved greatly over his Sun Devil career...appeared in 28 games with 14 starts...has seen action at both left and right tackle...one of the largest players on the team and boasts an 84-inch wingspan...saw significant action as a top reserve and also in starting roles during his junior and senior seasons.

2007: Played in 12 games as a senior, starting the final seven of the year at right tackle...was one of eight graduate students on the Sun Devil roster and one of five offensive linemen to have already earned his undergraduate degree.

2006: Played in 10 games, starting the final seven...started at left tackle in place of injured Brandon Rodd against Stanford and at Washington and was the starter at right tackle the remainder of the season when senior Stephen Berg suffered a season-ending injury...during his span as a starter, ASU totaled six of its top seven team rushing performances, including three games over 200 rushing yards...earned his first career start against Stanford on Oct. 21 and performed well as one of the Sun Devils' top offensive tackles for the remainder of the year.

2005: Played in three games (vs. Temple, vs. Northwestern and at Oregon State).

2004: Played in three games behind second-team All-Pac-10 selection Andrew Carnahan...saw action vs. UTEP, Iowa and Washington State.

2003: Redshirted as a member of the scout team.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2003 graduate of Bellaire High School in Houston, Texas...listed as the No. 64 prospect in the state of Texas by SuperPrep Magazine...rated as an all-region selection by PrepStar...a member of The Houston Chronicle's Top 100 and The Dallas Morning News' Top 100... earned second team all-state honors...made all-district as a junior and senior in 18A-5A...was all-academic all-district 18A-5A for three years...a National Honor Society member for the past two years...also a member of the Spanish National Honor Society...a member of Dave Campbell's Super team on the offensive line...a member of the Touchdown Club All-Greater Houston team...10-game statistics included 25 tackles and four quarterback sacks as a defensive lineman...as a junior, registered seven quarterback sacks in the first five games of the year from his defensive end spot before switching to offensive line...began playing football in the seventh grade...coached by Marshall Law.
