ASU: A strong candidate for lots of playing time at cornerback in 1999 … moved from safety to corner last Spring … great special teams player … very fast closing speed to the ball … will add depth to the secondary, especially in nickel and dime packages. 1998: Earned the ASU Babe Alex Demon Award for his performance on special teams … saw his first action as a Sun Devil in the season opener against Washington … posted two solo tackles and one assist … also contributed on special teams … recorded five solo tackles and three assists in the Sun Devils’ 34-15 win over North Texas … posted one solo tackle and one assist in the Sun Devils’ 24-3 rout of Oregon State … also recovered a Roddy Tompkins fumble at the OSU 19 in the fourth quarter … on the next play Kealy threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Lenzie Jackson for ASU’s final score of the game … tallied one solo tackle against Notre Dame … posted two solo tackles and one assist in the Sun Devils’ 44-38 overtime win over Stanford … recorded three solo tackles on special teams in ASU’s 38-28 win at Washington State … tallied one solo tackle at Oregon … played in 10 games.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 1997 graduate of Oxnard High School, Oxnard, Calif.… earned two votes as a member of The Long Beach Press-Telegram’s “Best of the Rest” list… earned all-sectional and all-Ventura County in 1996 by The Los Angeles Times and Palmore played running back and defensive back as a senior and had 50 solo stops, 84 assists and three interceptions last year… he was chosen all-C.I.F. in Division III in 1996… as a tailback, he carried 21 times for 225 yards and two touchdowns… he also added four kickoff returns for 212 yards and one touchdown on 81 yards… runs a 4.3 forty-yard dash and was a member of the Oxnard track and field squad… is listed as the No. 11 defensive back in the West by PrepStar magazine… coached by Wesley Morimune.

PERSONAL: Major is art… Parents are Michael (billing clerk) and Cherlyn (technical supervisor) Finerson of Oxnard, Calif.… lists most exciting sports experience as scoring first high school touchdown… full name is Courtney Lamar Palmore.
