ASU: Saw extensive playing time last year as a true freshman, especially in the pass rush unit....will compete for the starting role at defensive end opposite Jimmy Verdon...should be an every-down player after playing extensively during pass rush (Cobra) situations last year.
2002: Played in all 14 games...recorded 16 tackles, 10 were solo efforts...had 7.5 tackles for loss (43 yards), four of which were sacks (28 yards)...had a four tackle effort against Washington including 2.5 tackles for loss (16 yards) and one sack (9 yards)...was named to the Sporting News Pac-10 All-Freshman Team.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2002 graduate of Chandler (Ariz.) High School...transferred from Coolidge High School in Washington D.C. last summer when his family moved to Arizona...a member of the Tacoma News-Tribune's Western 100 (the top 100 players on the West Coast)...will begin his ASU career at defensive end......PrepStar all-region selection...member of the All-Informant team, selected annually by the Arizona Informant...listed as the No. 14 player in the state by SuperPrep and was a member of the SuperPrep Farwest Team...listed as the No. 10 player in Arizona in the preseason by SuperPrep...earned all-region honors as a tight end and defensive end his senior year...ran a 4.72 40 and turned in a 30-inch vertical leap at the 2000 Nike Camp at Rutgers...played in four games at Coolidge as a junior and had 28 tackles and seven quarterback sacks...started both ways, mainly as a blocking tight end in a run-oriented offense...also punted and was the all-conference punter as a junior...recorded 32 tackles and 12 sacks as a senior...had 28 tackles and seven sacks as a junior...coached by Kit Lathrop and Eric Richardson, both ASU alums...also won two letters in track and one letter each in basketball and tennis.
