Player Bio: Angelo Fobbs-Valentino



ASU: Fast defensive back with great size...provided depth in the secondary and contributed on special teams...appeared in 32 career games with 16 tackles (10 solo) in his four seasons.

2008: Played in seven games as a reserve in the secondary and as part of the kick coverage units on special teams...collected five tackles (four solo) on the season...had a tackle in season-opening victory over Northern Arizona on Aug. 30...returned from injury to play in final six games of the season...recorded two tackles at Oregon State on Nov. 1.

2007: Played in all 13 games as a reserve defensive back and as part of the kickoff and punt coverage units on special teams...totaled eight tackles (four solo) on the season...had two tackles in win over Colorado on Sept. 8...also recorded two tackles (one solo) in Pacific Life Holiday Bowl against Texas on Dec. 27.

2006: Saw action in 11 games, recording three total tackles (two solo)...was a valuable reserve defensive back and special teams contributor.

2005: Saw his only action of the season in the opener against Temple on Sept. 1.

2004: Redshirted as a member of the scout team.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2004 graduate of Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, Calif....was listed as the No. 85 player in California by SuperPrep Magazine...named first-team all-league as a running back and as a defensive back...was the league Most Valuable Player as well as the Serra High MVP...selected as second-team all-state at running back...was the league champion in the 200-meters and the 400-meters...two-way star who ran for 920 yards on 76 carries as a running back and scored 15 touchdowns...also starred on defense and as a kick and punt returner...tallied 472 yards on kickoff returns with two touchdowns...state qualifier in the 200, 400 and 4x400-meter relay...two-time MVP of his track and field team...holds the school records in the 200 and 400...won the Shea Award as Serra's Scholar-Athlete of the year in 2004...ran a 4.5 40-meter...lettered three times in football, four times in track and field and once in basketball ... captained his track team for three years...coached by Patrick Walsh whose brother, Nick Walsh, played on the Arizona State baseball team.

PERSONAL: Earned his degree (B.I.S., interdisciplinary studies) in May of 2008...has aspirations of being a CEO or an entrepreneur...father is Antione Valentino...mother is Lori Fobbs-Guillory...has two sisters, Mary and Christina...his father was a defensive back at UNLV...born Oct. 15, 1985 in Redwood City, Calif....full name is Angelo Pierre Fobbs-Valentino.
