Freedman Will Stay at ASU for Senior Season
TEMPE, Ariz. - Junior free safety Mitchell Freedman announced Friday that he will stay at Arizona State and play his senior season. Freedman, a first-team All-Pac-10 selection as a safety, was fifth on the team with 58 tackles in 1997.
Freedman Statement
"As you know, today is the last day to declare for the 1998 NFL Draft. I
know there has been some speculation as to whether or not I would declare
for the NFL or return to Arizona State University for my senior season.
"Priorities within my life, especially regarding my family situation, have changed over recent times. I do not wish to go into detail about these, but because of these I have chosen to return to ASU. My goal is to graduate or get as close to graduating from ASU as I possibly can.
"I am going to do everything in my power to be a member of this team in 1998 and to make those persons proud who have supported me throughout my career at ASU."
