ASU Volleyball Defeats Washington 3-2

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona State volleyball team (10-5, 1-3 Pac-10) snapped a four-game losing streak and recorded its first Pac-10 win by defeating Washington (8-6, 3-2 Pac-10) 3-2 at the University Activity Center. Game scores were 14-16, 15-3, 15-12, 10-15, 15-12.

Sun Devil outside hitter Terri Cox had a match-high 27 kills and 26 digs. This was Cox's 10th double double of the season.

Teammate Amanda Burbridge added 12 kills and 11 digs for ASU. The Sun Devils had four players in double digits in kills for the match.

Quick hitter Makare Desilets led the Huskies with 21 kills, one block solo and four block assists while teammate Amy Tutt added 13 kills and 17 digs.

The Sun Devils continue their homestand Saturday, October 4, 1997, when they face Washington State at 7 p.m. in the University Activity Center in the second of their two Pac-10 matches this weekend.
