Arizona State Falls to No. 4 Stanford

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Cardinal outside hitter Kristin Folkl had a match-high 17 kills as fourth-ranked Stanford defeated Arizona State, 3-0 tonight in a Pac-10 matchup in Palo Alto, California. Game scores were 15-11, 15-12, 15-10.
The Sun Devils were led by senior middle blocker Kirstin Mattson who notched a double-double with 12 kills, 10 digs, one block solo and three block assists. Sophomore Laura Hibsman added nine kills and two block assists to ASU's effort. Senior Terri Cox notched nine kills and nine digs on the evening.
The Cardinal were aided by freshman middle blocker Jennifer Detmer who posted seven kills, one block solo and six block assists while hitting .667 (7-1-9) on the night. Sophomore outside hitter Sarah Clark added nine kills and six digs.
The win extended Stanford's winning streak to 11 games in Maples Pavilion. The Cardinal improves to 16-2 overall and 7-0 in the Pac-10.
Arizona State (11-7, 2-5 Pac-10) will host Oregon and Oregon State at the University Activity Center next weekend in continued conference action.
