Volleyball Falls to No. 6 Washington State, 1-3

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona State volleyball team (10-6, 1-4 Pac-10) was defeated by sixth-ranked Washington State (17-1, 5-1 Pac-10) 1-3 at the University Activity Center Saturday night. Game scores were 15-13, 10-15, 14-16, 6-15.
Sun Devil senior outside hitter Terri Cox had a match-high 18 kills and 18 digs. This was Cox's 11th double-double of the season.
Teammate Kirstin Mattson added 12 kills and six block assists, while sophomore middle blocker Laura Hibsman had 11 kills, two block solos and two block assists for ASU.
Jennifer Canevari led a balanced Cougar attack with 15 kills and 14 digs. The Cougars had three players with double doubles in the match and had five players in double figures in kills.
The Sun Devils go on the road to face California October 10, and Stanford October 11. They return home October 17 when they take on Oregon at 7 p.m. in the University Activity Center.
