Arizona State Drops Five-Game Match to California

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The California Golden Bears volleyball team defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils in five games at the University Activity Center tonight. Game scores were 13-15, 15-12, 15-9, 11-15 and 15-13.
California's Jessica Dinaberg led all players with 25 kills. She also added 14 digs. Teammates Alicia Perry and Michelle Wickman tallied 15 and 19 digs respectively. California improves to 8-16 overall, 3-12 in the Pac-10.
"We battled," head coach Patti Snyder-Park said of the close match. "We came back from 2-1. We didn't lay down and die."
Outside hitter Terri Cox led the Sun Devils with 20 kills. Cox and Jen Lucero each recorded 18 digs and sophomore setter Lindsay Priest added a career-high 35 assists in the losing effort. The team also had 15 blocks, nine of which were solos.
Arizona State drops to 12-13 overall, 3-11 in the conference.
Arizona State travels to Oregon State Friday night and Oregon Saturday night in continued Pac-10 action.
