TEMPE, Ariz. -- The 25th-ranked UCLA Bruins defeated Arizona State in three games tonight in a Pac-10 matchup at the University Activity Center. Game scores were 15-12, 15-8 and 15-7.

Outside hitter Kara Milling led the Bruins with 16 kills and 13 digs. Teammates Tamika Johnson and Tanisha Larkin added 13 and 12 kills, respectively.

Arizona State was led by senior Terri Cox, who cracked the Conference all-time top ten list with 1,372 career digs. She also surpassed former Sun Devil Mindy Gowell (1,365 career digs) for No. 2 on ASU's all-time list.

Laura Hibsman added 12 kills for the Sun Devils.

"We tried to out-quick this team," head coach Patti Snyder-Park said. "We started out strong and then we just broke down." She added that the Bruins' dig-to-kill transition was "extremely good."

UCLA improves to 13-11 overall, 8-9 in Pac-10 play.

Arizona State is now to 13-15 overall, 4-13 in the conference. The Sun Devils close out the 1997 season at home against Southern California tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
