ASU: Has been a mainstay of the lineup for two seasons ... regained her form on bars and beam in 2002 and 2003 after a frustrating 2001 season that ended prematurely due to injury ... will be a senior co-captain along with Maggie Germaine in 2004.

2003: Posted a career-high 9.875 on bars versus Kentucky (3/21) ... placed third on beam (9.9) versus San Jose State (3/14) ... placed sixth on beam (9.9) in UNO's Classic (2/28) ... set career-high on beam (9.95), tying for fifth against UCLA (2/16) ... tied for third on beam (9.875) at Arizona (1/31) ... placed seventh on bars at Utah (9.85, 1/24) ... competed on beam (9.85, season-high) and bars (9.125, fall) against Washington ... scored 9.725 (career-high) on bars at Maui Invitational (1/3).

2002: In just her second competitive routine after missing almost a year due to a severe knee injury, she scored a meet-high 9.925 on beam, improving upon her previous best of 9.875 set in 2001 against Washington (2/ 2), against Utah State and Southern Utah ... for her performance, was named Pacific-10 Conference Gymnast Of The Week for March (4/11) ... made an exhibition appearance on uneven bars in the 2002 season opener against Utah State, (1/ 11) ... posted a 9.8 on beam versus Arizona on (3/1) ... participated on beam at the 2001 Pac-10 Conference Championships in March ... tallied a 9.550 on beam at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships in Wells Fargo Arena.

2001: In season shortened to eight meets due to a torn ACL, competed seven times on vault and six times on beam ... on vault suffered two falls in her first three attempts before beginning to turn things around with a 9.7 versus Washington ... at Stanford, established her collegiate best with a 9.825 that was second on the team only to Maggie Germaine's 9.85 ... in final two vault appearances of the season, posted 9.75 at Utah and a 9.8 at the UNO's Classic ... finished the season with a 9.585 average on vault ... on beam suffered a pair of falls but notched three scores above 9.8 ... in ASU's upset of No. 1 UCLA, scored a 9.825, one week before establishing her collegiate best with a 9.875 versus Washington ... at the UNO's Classic, scored a 9.85 ... finished her season with a 9.516 average on beam ... suffered season-ending knee injury in touch warm-ups on vault before the Auburn meet.

High School: A 2000 graduate of Santa Teresa High in San Jose ... competed for Airborne club team ... at 1998 nationals finished first in the all-around ... second in all-around at 1999 nationals.

Personal: Majoring in sociology at ASU, hopes to work with children in her professional life ... parents are Peter and Patty Giorgianni ... father swam for San Jose State, mother performed modern dance and ballet there ... Says John Spini: "She came back last year and competed for us in two events, bars and beam, after injuing her knee her freshman year. I'm pushing Amber for the all-around, but I think she will actually work for us in vault, bars and beam this year. We're really excited for her and she brings a lot of leadership to our team and brings everything together. She is the melting pot that makes everything work. She's going to be a real key to our team chemistry."
