OFF THE TEE: Transferred to ASU after the 1999-2000 season from Oklahoma State and has competed in 22 tournaments...older brother Sam played golf for four years at ASU (1995-99)...advanced to match play at the 2002 Arizona Amateur and won two matches before falling in the Round of 16...also advanced to the 2002 U.S. Amateur championship in Michigan but failed to qualify for match play after shooting 146 (74-72)...was low qualifier in Arizona at the U.S. Public Links Championship (67-67) in the summer of 2001...tied for low qualifier at the first stage of 2001 U.S. Open with a 69.
2002-2003: Best outing was a 1-under 212 (70-70-72) at the Taylor Made Intercollegiate and tied for 16th...shot a 3-under 211 (72-69-70) and tied for 30th at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational...competed in 10 events, third-most on the team...competed in every tournament from October through April...69 in the third round of the ASU Thunderbird Invitational matched a collegiate career best...had a 73.65 stroke average.
2001-2002: Played in seven tournaments and had a 73.77 stroke average...was in the lineup in the final four tournaments...best outing was a 1-over 217 (72-73-72) at the Taylor Made Intercollegiate in January as he tied for ninth...had a 69 in the first round of the U.S. Collegiate Championship and in the third round of the ASU Thunderbird Invitational...had a 2-over 218 and tied for 16th at the NCAA West Regional...averaged 73.15 in his final four outings.
2000-2001: Played in five tournaments and had a 74.71 stroke average...best round was a 69 at the Ping/Arizona Intercollegiate on Jan. 29, 2000...made five appearances, all of them in the spring...shot a 2-over 218 (71-71-76) at the Thunderbird/SAVANE Invitational on April 13-14...also played in the USC Golf Classic, the Oregon Duck Invitational and the U.S. Collegiates.
CORTEZ HIGH SCHOOL: Won high school regional for three straight years...won the High School Senior Classic...a first-team all-state pick...third at the 1998 Western Junior Championship...fourth at the 1998 AJGA Ping Phoenix and the 1998 AJGA Polo Southwestern...eighth at the 1998 National Insurance Youth Classic, held at Oak Tree Country Club.
