GREAT RUN AT THE 2001 AMATEUR: Nosler made a great run at the U.S. Amateur Championship this past summer in Atlanta. After shooting a 141 to qualify for match play, Nosler won four matches before losing to eventual champion Bubba Dickerson 1 up in the semifinals. Nosler defeated Brian Quackenbush (1 up), Robert Godfrey (2 and 1), Michael Webb (1 up) and then had to face former Sun Devil teammate and defending U.S. Amateur Champion Jeff Quinney in the quarterfinals. Nosler topped Quinney 1 up before falling to Dickerson.
MORE ON NOSLER'S SUMMER OF 2001: Was the runner-up at the Oregon Amateur (71-10) in match play...finished third at the Sahalee Players Championship held at the Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Wash., on July 4-6 with a 1-under 215 (74-69-72)...sixth at the Cardinal Amateur (71-68-71)...tied for second at the Stocker Cup (71-71-75)...finished eighth and was low amateur at the Northwest Open (70-72-68)...12th and low amateur at the Rosauer's Spokane Open (67-68-72).
JUNIOR YEAR (2000-2001): Tied for ninth at the Oregon Duck Invitational with a 3-over 219, including a career-low 67 in the first round...tied for sixth at the ASU Thunderbird/SAVANE Invitational with a 7-under 209 (70-71-68).
SUMMER OF 2000: Arizona Amateur semifinalist at the Gallery Golf Club (74-70)...finished 24th at the Monroe Invitational at Monroe, N.Y. (64-79-70-73)...finished ninth at the Arizona Stroke Play at the Raven (69-73-68-75=285)...finished sixth at the Oregon Stroke Play (69-73-71)...quarterfinalist at the Oregon Amateur (76-71)...finished 13th at the Spokane Open (67-68-75).
SUMMER OF 1999: Tied for second at the Arizona Stroke Play at the Raven (68-75-69-77/289)...tied for eighth at the Northwest Open (68-72-70/210) and was low amateur...quarterfinalist at the Dixie Amateur at Ft. Lauderdale Fla....shot 74-71 at the Arizona Amateur at Paradise Valley Country Club and advanced to the round of 16 in match play...qualified for the U.S. Amateur with a 136 (66-70) at Tukwila Golf Club...placed 12th among 80 at the Seattle Golf Club in the Pacific Coast Amateur with a 70-73-71-82...placed second at the Seattle Amateur at the West Seattle Golf Club with a 75-68-75...tied for sixth at the Oregon Stroke Play at Tukwila Golf Club with a 71-69-72.
UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON (1997-98): Finished with a 74.78 stroke average, the third-best on the team...one of three Huskies to compete in every round during the season...tied for 10tth at the 1998 Pilot Spring Invite...UW's top finisher at the 1998 Pac-10 Championship as he tied for sixth with a 1-over-par 289 (70-67-76-76)...season low was the 67 in the second round of the Pac-10s...finished 17th at the 1997 Nike Northwest Invitational with a season-best 219.
