Player Bio: Te Edwards

Arizona State - Returns for his junior campaign after making his first NCAA appearance one year before... moving up to 165 this year after splitting time at both 157 and 165 last year... 2009-10: Advanced to his first national appearance and finished 2-2 at the NCAA Championships with both losses coming in one-point contests (8-7, 10-9)... earned a berth in the national event by placing third at the Pac-10 Championships, the final automatic spot at 157 pounds in the conference... took third place with a 3-2 upset of No. 14 Keegan Davis (Oregon State)... lone loss came to No. 6 Adam Hall (Boise State), 6-5, in the semifinals... finished the year with a 16-13 overall record and was 5-6 in duals... also was 6-5 at 165 pounds with 10 of those matches (6-4) coming at the Las Vegas Invitational and the Reno Tournament of Champions... took on No. 1 J.P. O'Connor (Harvard) at the Lone Star Duals, falling to the undefeated wrestler, 6-5... 2008-09: Posted a 4-8 overall record on the season... earned the starting job in time for the Midlands Championships, where he went 1-2... entered the Pac-10 Championships with a 1-6 record, but opened the tournament with an 11-3 major decision over Sam Barnhart (CS Bakersfield)... won twice more in the tournament, including a 10-8 decision over Joey Wilson (UC Davis) to take fifth place... started the season as a redshirt and competed in a pair of events... placed third at the season-opening CS Fullerton Open at 157 pounds, defeating Trevor Hall (CS Bakersfield) in the medal match, 6-2... also took fourth at the Embry-Riddle Open, falling to teammate Michael Swigart in the medal match.

High School: A graduate of Cox High School (Virginia Beach, Va.)... lettered in wrestling four times and captained the team his last two seasons... won the 2008 Virginia state title and was runner-up at the Senior Nationals... twice won the district championship and added two finals appearances at the regional meet, winning once... compiled a career record of 145-23 with a 40-4 mark as a senior... selected as the team's MVP and Most Improved in 2008... also was Most Improved in 2007 and the junior varsity MVP in 2006.

Personal: Majoring in exercise and wellness... parents are Terrence and Pamela Edwards... has two sisters: Tatianna and Chantel... competed for and graduated from the same high school as Sun Devil assistant coach Brian Stith... born September 11, 1990, in Virginia Beach, Va.... full name is Tejovan Ahmad Edwards.
