Arizona State: In his two seasons with ASU, has accumulated five All-America honors in the sprint events...enters junior season as the two-time defending Pac-10 champion at 400m...competed for Zimbabwe in the 2004 Athens Olympics, finishing ninth overall in the 400m event...named his nation's Sports Man of the Year...one of only six Sun Devils to break the 45-second barrier in the quarter, running 44.58 to win the conference meet...ranks third all-time in the indoor 200m (21.19) and second in the 400m (45.82)...personal best 20.59 in the 200m is the 10th fastest in ASU history...in the relays, was a part of the outdoor 4x400m teams that rank second, fourth and fifth and anchored the second-fastest 4x100m team... 2004 Outdoor: Earned three All-America honors by finishing fourth in the 400m dash, second with the 4x100m relay and fourth with the 4x400m relay...successfully defended his Pac-10 400m crown, winning in a meet-record time of 44.58...also became one of three Sun Devils to break the 45-second barrier...also helped the 4x100m relay win titles at the conference and regional level...also competed in the 200m dash at the Pac-10 meet, finishing third... 2004 Indoor: Helped the 4x400m relay to a third-place finish at the NCAA Championships to garner All-America honors...that relay never lost a race during the season, finishing third in the nation by virtue of two teams posting faster times in the second heat at the national meet...competed in the 400m dash four times on the year, winning the Iowa State Last Chance meet and placing second in two other meets... 2003 Outdoor: Won the Pac-10 title in the 400m dash and took third in the 200m...helped relay team to conference crown in the 4x400m and third in the 4x100m...won the 200m dash twice in four attempts...also won the 400m dash twice...of the 11 races he ran individually with seven Top 3 finishes... 2003 Indoor: Earned his first All-America honor as the 4x400m relay team remain undefeated on the indoor season and captured fifth at the NCAA Championships...competed in three individual races, finishing first, second and third...top two finishes came in the 400m dash with the win at the NAU Invite...his lone run in the 200m tied the previous school record of 21.19, but teammate Seth Amoo (record holder) reset the mark in the same race.

High School: A 2002 graduate of Milton High School (Bulawayo)...competed in track for three year, lettering twice and captaining his team as a junior and senior...won the Zimbabwe national meet in 2001 in the 400m...took silver at the African Championships in both the 200m and 400m in 2001...established the school record in the 200m (20.81)...also holds the interschool records for the 200m and 400m runs (45.85)...selected to the national team for the 2002 Commonwealth Games for track and field...also played rugby for two years as a wing and fullback.

Personal: Majoring in accounting...parents are Simon and Sinanzeni Banda...eight siblings: Phephehiphi, Shantal, Micheale, Nyusha, Tessa, Rutendo, Simba and Gurai...born April 16, 1982, in Tshabalwa, Zimbabwe...full name is Lewis Simon Banda...enjoys listening to music.
