Four-year point guard started 102 games in his career, third in ASU history behind only Eddie House (114 from 1996-2000) and Ron Riley (109 from 1992-96). Played in all 120 contests, the sixth-best mark in Sun Devil history and just four games from the school record of 120 also set by Eddie House. A top 50 recruit from the high school graduating class of 2001 who made some of the best dunks in the nation in his four years. Finished his career with 384 steals, sixth on the ASU career chart, and with 166 steals, fifth in ASU history.
In his senior year of 2004-2005, Braxton started all 32 games as ASU won 18 games and advanced to the NIT, its third postseason appearance in his four years. Led the Pac-10 in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.55), as he had 115 assists and just 49 turnovers. He had a season-high 11 points vs. Oregon State on Feb. 17 and also had six 10-point games (at #13 Washington, vs. California, at #14 Arizona, vs. Fairleigh Dickinson, vs. Northwestern and vs. USC). Also had nine points, nine rebounds and seven assists vs. #11 Arizona on March 5 in the last game of the regular season.
In his junior year (2003-2004), he averaged 4.8 assists per game (fourth in the Pac-10), the best by a Sun Devil since Ahlon Lewis set the Pac-10 record at 9.2 in 1997-98. His 2.04 steals per game and 2.06 assist-to-turnover ratio were both second in the league. Posted 12 points and career-high 12 assists (tied for ninth-best in school history) in win at USC on Jan. 17. Had nine games in double-digits, including a season-high 15 points and 10 assists vs. San Diego on Dec. 29.
He helped lead ASU to the NCAA Tournament and a 20-12 record in his sophomore year (2002-2003) as he was tied for fourth on the team in minutes per game at 20.3 and was second on team with 38 steals. He matched a career-high with 17 points in NCAA second-round loss to sixth-ranked Kansas. He did not turn the ball over in 47 minutes on Oregon road trip and had 11 points vs. Utah on Nov. 27 in the Maui Invitational.
Started the final 20 games at point guard in his freshman year (2001-2002) and played at least 20 minutes in 22 games. He averaged 26.3 minutes and 8.8 points in the final 14 games and averaged 8.6 points in the 10 games against ranked opponents. Had season-high 17 points, including 5-of-6 from the free throw line, in 34 minutes in season finale at UNLV on March 12 in NIT. Posted season-high seven assists vs. No. 21 California on Feb. 28 and played a season-high 35 minutes and had a season high eight rebounds and added 10 points at No. 14 Arizona on Feb. 20. First start was vs. Canisius on Dec. 28.
Family has a lot of athletic ties as his uncle, Mike Douglas, played for the Green Bay Packers while cousins Derrick Williams (Northern Arizona), Shaun Williams (UCLA and New York Giants) and Eric Williams (Oregon State) also played football. An extremely athletic player who moved up considerably in all of the recruiting rankings during his senior season in high school. The HoopScoop ranked him as the 47th-best player in the nation after his senior season and seventh in the Pac-10 and The Sporting News ranked Braxton as No. 16 on its point guard prospect list. He was rated by ESPN.com as No. 41 in the nation and Bob Gibbons had him as a top-100 player. Averaged 20.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 9.5 assists and three steals his senior year and his career totals were 1,800 points, 700 rebounds, 640 assists and 340 steals.
