Earned his B.I.S. in Business and Communications in May of 2004. Arizona native who played in 99 games in four-year career but was the victim of an injury bug in his final two seasons. Averaged 28.4 minutes per game in 1998-99, the sixth-most by freshman in Sun Devil history, and then went on a two-year LDS Mission to Eugene, Ore., and returned in the summer of 2001. He made 33-of-38 (.868) free throws in his Pac-10 career and 53-of-69 (.768) overall and ended his career with 93 three-pointers, eighth-most in ASU history. In April of 2002 he broke his fibula just above his right ankle in a dirt bike accident and had to have surgery. Crandall played in the Maui Invitational twice (1998 and 2002) and was a high school and college basketball teammate of current Baltimore Raven and Pro Bowl tight end Todd Heap.
Played through pain in his leg throughout his junior year (2002-2003) and made 17-of-20 (.850) free throws, including 9-of-10 (.900) in conference play, as ASU advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1995. Posted 12 points at top-ranked Arizona on Jan. 22, including four three-pointers, in 20 minutes and had season-high five assists and 27 minutes in opening game of the year against Morehead State on Nov. 22. Played double-digit minutes in nine games.
Scored in double figures in five games in his sophomore year (2001-2002) and averaged 6.6 points, shot 19-of-36 (.528) from the floor and was 5-of-6 (.833) from the free throw line in eight games before a Jan. 31 injury at Stanford, as he sprained a ligament in his right foot and he was out for six games. He finished 35-of-83 (.422) from the three-point stripe, including 21-of-46 (.456) in Pac-10 play. Posted 14 points and was perfect from the field in five shots in Jan. 6 win over eventual Pac-10 champion Oregon and had 14 points in season-high 33 minutes in Oregon State win on Jan. 4. He posted a career-high 22 points vs. Prairie View A & M on Dec. 1, including 19 in the first half.
Crandall actually could not practice in his freshman year until November due to an NCAA Clearinghouse matter. His collegiate career began at the Maui Invitational at halftime of a game. Crandall became eligible while the team was on the road and slept at the San Francisco Airport rather than go to a hotel when his plane was delayed. He arrived in Maui at about 10:45 a.m., 15 minutes before ASU tipped off against Kansas State. He got a ride to the game, which was about an hour away, put on his uniform and entered the game in the second half with 12:29 left played 10 minutes.
