Arizona prep product who transferred to UTEP following 2007-2008 season. Played just under 30 minutes per game in freshmen season (2006-2007) and took full advantage of late summer departures of senior starters Kevin Kruger and Bryson Krueger in Herb Sendek's initial season at ASU. Posted four 20-point games in his first six contests. Best moment at ASU was when he hit the game-winning three-pointer against Iowa on Nov. 25, 2006, in 67-64 Sun Devil victory and also hit three-pointer to send California game into overtime on Dec. 30, 2006. Shot 80.4 percent from the free throw line (45-of-56) in his two-year career.

Started in 26 games in his freshman year (2006-2007) and averaged 29.4 minutes per game, third-most on team and made 64 three-pointers, at the time the second-best by a freshman in ASU history and eighth-best by a freshmen in Pac-10 history. Led team in free throw percentage, hitting 34-of-43 (.791) and averaged 12.0 points per game (seventh-best by a freshmen in ASU history after the 2006-2007 season). Posted 21 double-digit scoring games, including first seven games.

Coached at Deer Valley high school in Glendale, Ariz., by John Fellens, as Polk was the 2005-06 Region Player of the Year and a first-team all-state selection. He averaged 25 points, five boards and four assists per game in senior year and had six 30-point games in senior year, including a 36-point effort against Marcos de Niza on Dec. 17, 2005, as his team won 16 straight games from Nov. 25-Jan. 24, on a team that featured Stanford's Lawrence Hill. Earned MVP honors of the 200-player, seventh annual Reebok/Arizona Preps Fall Showcase held at Grand Canyon University in October of 2005. Earned second-team "Best in the West" honors by the Long Beach Press Telegram in its November of 2005 annual rankings. Full name is Christian Lawrence Polk.
