Batiste Scores 18 in Second Half in Victory over Vikings

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona State Sun Devils (6-2) defeated the Portland State Vikings (4-1) 83-66 this afternoon in the University Activity Center in front of 4,011 fans.
Junior Mike Batiste scored 18 points in the second half on a 9 for 10 spree to cap the Devils' 17-point victory. Batiste led all scorers with 23. Batiste also led all ASU rebounders with nine.
Other Devils in double figures were senior guard Jeremy Veal, who notched 16 points, junior Bobby Lazor who scored 12, and sophomore Eddie House with 11.
Senior Ahlon Lewis had 12 assists on the day, and now has a streak of three games with 12 or more assists.
Coach Don Newman was glad to get another victory at home.
"I am proud of these guys. We have achieved a lot of small goals. It feels good to get win number six."
The Devils head out on the road to next take on Oklahoma State on December 10th.
