TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State scored 123 points in their 123-85 victory over the Delaware State Hornets. This is the fourth most points ever scored in a Sun Devils game.
Jeremy Veal and Bobby Lazor both scored over 20 points. Veal (24 points) posted his fourth 20 point game of the year and the 30th of his career. Lazor (22 points) posted his fifth 20 point game of the year.
Eddie House and Ahlon Lewis both contributed to the victory with 12 assists each. House also had four steals.
Head Coach Don Newman could not express his feelings enough when it came to the positive impact of this victory.
Newman said, "It is very positive. Every win we pull in Sun Devil land is positive."
"There was a lot of intensity and a lot of emotion spent in New York," said Newman. "We came back to Tempe to protect our home, to protect our backyard."
Newman played many of his walk-on players in this victory. "I always enjoy putting walk-on guys in the game," said Newman. "They always are there to lift every one else up."
The Sun Devils take on the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the University Activity Center.
