2001 (Freshman): Honorable Mention Freshman All-American (Collegiate Baseball)... made 13 appearances during freshman year on the mound, with seven coming as starts... posted a 2-2 record with 7.31 ERA... started the season as ASU's Sunday pitcher, but moved to the bullpen for Pac-10 play... a majority of his 28.1 innings pitched came in non-conference action... opened his ASU career with a bang, striking out nine in 4.2 innings to pick up his first collegiate win over Southern Utah (2/3)... recorded 18 of his season total 29 strikeouts in his first three appearances... was 2-1 with a 3.86 ERA in his eight appearances at home... played for the Falmouth Commodores in the Cape Cod League and Liberal Beejays in the Jayhawk League.
