Player Bio: Josh Satow



2007 (Junior): The leader of the pitching staff, Satow finished the year tied with teammate Mike Leake for the Pac-10 lead with 13 victories...a First Team All-Pac-10 selection and a Second Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball...was named to the All-Houston College Classic team...went 13-3 with a 2.76 ERA in 133.2 innings pitched...pitched in 20 games, starting 19...had three complete games, including a 10-0 win over USC in the Pac-10 opener in Los Angeles...struck out 119 batters while walking only 53...his 133.2 innings were the third most in the conference, while his 119 Ks were good for fourth most in the Pac-10, as was his 2.76 ERA... the 13 wins was the third most in the nation...was named the Pac-10 and National Pitcher of the Week on February 12th.

2006 (Sophomore): Became a huge contributor as a sophomore, pitching in 19 games, starting five...went 4-2 with a 4.78 ERA...pitched in 49.0 innings, allowing 31 runs, 26 earned, striking out 44 while walking only 11...opponents hit only .287 against him...struck out a career high 10 batters at UCLA (4/21)...played summer ball for the Vermont Mountaineers of the New England Collegiate Baseball League who won the 2006 NECBL championship...went 3-0 with a 0.93 ERA for the Mountaineers.

2005 (Freshman): Saw action in four games, all coming out of the bullpen... earned a victory in his ASU debut giving up nine hits and nine runs (six earned) in five innings against Western Illinois (3/13)... threw two shutout innings against Wright State (4/1) in his home debut... in two Pac-10 contests was 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA... worked a scoreless inning and allowed only one hit against nationally ranked Arizona (5/16)... played summer baseball for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots in the Alaska Baseball League... went 1-1 with a 2.25 ERA in eight games.

High School: A 2004 graduate of Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale, Ariz... earned three varsity letters under head coach Bryan Rice... played summer baseball for the Giants in 2003 and the Firebirds in 2004... helped lead Desert Mountain to three straight league titles... was a three-time winner of Desert Mountain's Pitcher of the Year award... named first-team Central Region as a sophomore (2002)... as a junior in 2003 went 10-1 with a 2.78 ERA... named second-team All-State by the Arizona Republic and East Valley Tribune... named the East Valley Tribune 5A Pitcher of the Year in 2004 after going 10-2 with a 2.76 ERA... recorded 93 strikeouts and only nine walks in 83.1 IP... ranked as the No. 12 high school prospect in the state of Arizona by Perfect Game/Baseball America heading into the 2004 MLB Draft.
