Career: A2011 Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year and only thesecond Sun Devil to ever win the award, joining Eric Sogard (2007)...atwo-time First Team Pac-12 All-Conference selection ('11-`12)...earned all-conference accolades in each of his three seasons...two-time Academic All-District VIII honoree (First Team - '12, Second Team - '11)...had the game-winning walk-off single in game one and scored the game-winning run in game two of 2010 Tempe Super Regional...set an ASU freshman record with his team-leading .397 batting average (62-156)...made 145 career starts (37-54-54) and had 593 at-bats...led Team USA with his 19 hits and 14 RBI in 14 games

2012 (Junior):A First Team Pac-12 All-Conference selection...started 54 of 56 games at shortstop and hit .284 with 11 doubles, five triples (third-best in the Pac-12) and four home runs...third on the team in RBI (33), hits (62) and runs scored (38)...second on the team with 11 stolen bases and 171 assists...walked 18 times with 17 strikeouts...had a team-high 14 errors...ranked second on the team with 20 multi-hit games, including four three-hit games, and was third with nine multi-RBI games...had an 11-games hitting streak at one point in the season...batted .309 (38-123) in conference play...had a team and season-high eight assists in a game twice, including vs. UC Riverside on Feb. 26 and vs. Washington May 18...had a season-high three hits and three RBI vs. Washington May 20...was the sole unanimous First Team selection in Baseball America's Preseason All-America poll and was one of just six repeat recipients (Second Team in 2011)...named to Brooks Wallace Award Watch List for top shortstop in nation...part of USA Baseball's 2012 Golden Spikes Award Preseason Watch List...named to six other preseason All-America teams.

2011 (Sophomore): Continued to be one of the best players on the field, earning Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year honors and First Team All-Pac-10...is the second Sun Devil to ever win Defensive Player of the Year, joining Eric Sogard (2007)...also was named ABCA Second Team All-West Region, Second Team Academic All-Pac-10 and Second Team Academic All-District VIII...hit .315 (69-219) with two homers and 20 RBI...started 54 games at shortstop...scored 33 times and also stole 10 bases...hit 14 doubles and three triples...played on the Team USA National Collegiate Team and for the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod League during the summer...led Team USA with his 19 hits and 14 RBI in 14 games...was named a Cape Cod League All-Star.

2010 (Freshman): Had a dominant freshman season, earning First Team Freshman All-American honors from Collegiate Baseball and Second Team honors from the NCBWA...was an Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 selection...appeared in 42 games, starting 37 at mostly shortstop or DH...set an ASU freshman record with his team-leading .397 batting average (62-156)...hit 12 doubles, three triples and six homers...drove in 42 runs...slugged .628...also stole 11 bases...was named to the All-Tempe Regional Team...had the game-winning walk-off single in the 12th inning of Game One of the Tempe Super Regional against Arkansas...scored the game-winning run in Game Two of the Super Regional on Drew Maggi's home run.

High School: A 2009 graduate of American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida...served as team captain of the American Heritage baseball team in 2008 and 2009...was named All-State and All-County in 2008, when American Heritage won both the Florida State title and the National title.

MLB Draft: Was a 17th round selection (509th overall) of the Cincinnati Reds in the 2009 Major League Baseball draft.

Personal:
Criminal Justice major...mother is Dalyn Nye of Davie, Florida...has two sisters, Lauren and Brittany...his cousin Chris plays for the Washington Nationals, while his cousin Christian is in the Braves organization...chose ASU because of the tradition of the baseball program...says his favorite team is the Florida Marlins...born August 25, 1990 in Miami, Florida.
