2008 Track: Redshirted... 2007 XC: Redshirted... competed in two races unattached to ASU... placed 31st at the ASU Invitational.
High School: A 2007 graduate of Yuma Catholic High School (Yuma, Ariz.)... lettered four times each in cross country and track & field... two-time state champion after claiming the 1,600m and 3,200m runs in 2006... placed third at the state cross country meet as a senior... three-time Yuma Sun/Rotary Club Runner of the Year for cross country (2004-06)... participated in the Border War with New Mexico (pits Top 25 cross country runners from Arizona against the Top 25 from New Mexico)... a 2005 and 2006 all-regional selection... school record holder in the 800m, 1,600m and 3,200m runs... has competed in the P.F. Chang's Rock and Roll Half-Marathon, placing 13th in 2006 and 17th in 2007... academically, was a three-time recipient of the President's Award for Academic Excellence (2004-06)... member of the National Honor Society and was an AIA Scholar-Athlete.
