The Sun Devil cross country teams competed in the NCAA West Region Championships Saturday in Portland, Ore.
Arizona State: A three time All-American, Kingma will look to lead the team back to a trophy finish at the NCAA Championships after placing 37th at the 2007 cross country championships... holds three of the top times on the track, including third all-time in ASU history in the indoor 3,000m run (9:13.39) and fourth in the indoor 5,000m run (16:14.12)... also ranks sixth in the outdoor 5,000m run (15:59.15)... 2008 Outdoor: Regionally qualified in the 5,000m run at the Cardinal Invitational (16:50.81)... finished 11th in the region... competed in the Pac-10 Championships at 10,000m, but did not finish... also ran the 1,500m race twice on the year... selected for USTFCCCA All-Academic and Academic All-Pac-10 Second Team honors... 2008 Indoor: Ran in one race, finishing 15th in the 3,000m run at the MPSF Championships... 2007 XC: Earned her first All-America honor in cross country after finishing 37th at the NCAA Championships... led the women to a fourth-place finish and the team's second trophy finish in three years... selected as the team's Most Valuable runner... won her first cross country race, taking the Dave Murray Invitational and leading the team to victory... was the team's top finisher in five of six races... earned All-Pac-10 First Team honors by finishing fifth at the Pac-10 Championships... all-region selection by finishing eight in the NCAA West Region meet... placed in the Top 10 in five of her six races, including sixth at the Roy Griak Invitational and ninth at the NCAA Pre-National meet... earned USTFCCCA All-Academic and Academic All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention accolades... 2007 Outdoor: Scored in a pair of events at the Pac-10 Championships, placing fifth in the 10,000m run and seventh in the 5,000m run... placed sixth in the West Region at 5,000m... qualified for the national meet where she placed 16th overall... finished fourth in the 1,500m run at the Double Dual... selected as an USTFCCCA All-Academic and Second Team Academic All-Pac-10 honoree... 2007 Indoor: Competed in two events, the 3,000m and 5,000m runs... qualified and ran in the 5,000m run at the NCAA Championships, placing 15th in 16:24.44... scored at the MPSF Championships in the 3,000m run by finishing third... finished second at the Washington Last Chance meet in the 5,000m run at 16:14.12, the fourth-fastest in time school history... 2006 XC: Paced the team in five of the team's six races... placed 60th at the NCAA Championships after taking ninth at the NCAA West Region, where she earned All-Region honors... also was selected Second Team All-Pac-10 honors after placing 10th at the conference meet... opened the year as the meet runner-up at the Dave Murray Invitational... placed 11th at the Pre-National meet and was 12th at the Roy Griak Invitational... earned Second Team Academic All-Pac-10 honors... 2006 Outdoor: Earned All-America honors by finishing 10th overall (seventh American finisher) in the 5,000m run in 16:22.42... won the NCAA West Region 5,000m run (16:31.03) after placing fifth at the Pac-10 Championships... ran 15:59.15 in the 5,000m run to place fifth at the Stanford Invitational... that time is the sixth-fastest in school history... also regionally qualified in the 1,500m run with a personal best time of 4:25.87... placed seventh in the 1,500m run at the Pac-10 Championships to score for the team... competed for the USA in the NACAC Under-23 Championships in the Dominica Republic, placing fifth in the 5,000m run... earned Academic All-Pac-10 Second Team honors... 2006 Indoor: Earned her first All-America honor by finishing sixth in the 3,000m run at the NCAA Championships (9:16.13)... ran 9:13.39 at the MPSF Championships for the second-fastest time in school history... also earned Academic All-MPSF honors... 2005 XC: Made a mark as one of the team's up-and-coming runners, finishing second on the team and 42nd overall at the NCAA Championships... voted as the team's Most Improved Female Athlete... finished 13th at the regional meet to earn All-West Region accolades... also was a selection to the All-Pac-10 Second Team after finishing ninth at the conference meet... opened the season with a 25th-place showing at the Roy Griak Invitational... also was 16th at the Pre-National meet... selected to the Honorable Mention Academic All-Pac-10 team... 2005 Track: Redshirted... 2004 XC: Redshirted.
High School: A 2004 graduate of San Luis Obispo High School (San Luis Obispo, Calif.)... captured several individual titles in her career, including the California Division III cross country crown in 2002... placed in the Top 10 at the state meet two other times... as a member of the Pac 5 Conference, won five individual titles with four coming on the track... won the 800m as a junior (2003) before sweeping the 800m, 1600m and 3200m runs as a senior (2004)... secured the conference cross country crown in 2003... at SLOHS, she earned several honors, including the school's outstanding female athlete for 2003-04... in cross country, was selected Rookie of the Year (2000) and Outstanding Varsity Athlete (2001, 2002 and 2003)... on the track, she was named Most Valuable Track Distance Runner (2001 and 2002), Coaches Award (2003) and Outstanding Varsity Athlete (2004)... earned four letters each in cross country and track and field... captained both teams twice.
