Pac-12 Release | NFCA Top 25 | USA Softball Top 25
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Arizona State softball's Dallas Escobedo and junior transfer Cheyenne Coyle picked up Pac-12 Conference Player of the Week honors on Tuesday, as announced by the conference office.
This is Escobedo's third weekly accolade and Coyle's first in the Pac-12 Conference. Arizona State now extends its streak to three years in which it has had someone named a Player or Pitcher of the Week by the Pac-12. The duo are ASU's 73rd and 74th to be honored for the Sun Devils.
The Sun Devils opened the season 7-0, its best start since 2007, and to make the opening week even sweeter earned both the Pac-12 Player and Pitcher of the Week awards. The last time the program swept both awards was April 26, 2011.

Dallas Escobedo went 4-0 over the weekend with a 0.28 ERA in 24.2 innings pitched. ASU's ace opened the season by fanning 15 New Mexico batters, one shy of her career high, and followed with 10 more strikeouts against Indiana. A highlight of her weekend was pitching a perfect game through five innings against Boise State (10-0 in six) and concluding that matchup with a combined no-hitter with freshman Alexis Cooper. Her four wins bump her to sixth all time in ASU career records with 65, and her 39 strikeouts brings her career total to an even 600 (5th at ASU).
Shortstop Cheyenne Coyle began her career as a Sun Devil with a bang. Hitting a team best five home runs, 10 RBI and a 1.263 slugging percentage. Coyle went yard in four games and had an especially strong performance against Indiana, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored, two home runs and two RBI.
