Sun Devil Tennis Hosts Weekend of Pac-12 Play

March 22, 2012

TEMPE, Ariz. -

The No. 30 Arizona State Sun Devils Women's Tennis Team will host The University of Oregon and The University of Washington for the first ever Pac-12 conference play in Tempe, this weekend at the Whiteman Tennis Center.

Coming off a dissapointing performance last weekend against Washington State, The Sun Devils are looking to bounce back against an 8-3 Oregon team who most recently fell to Cal 7-0.

"We had to put that one behind us quickly. We spent all this past week getting ready for Oregon and Washginton," ASU head coach Sheila McInerney said.

ASU comes into the competition 8-3, and is looking to earn its first Pac-12 regular season win. The Sun Devils are lead by ninth ranked Jacqueline Cako in both doubles and singles play. Cako defeated No. 43 ranked Liudmila Vasilieva of Washington State to earn the sole singles point for Arizona State.

The University of Oregon is led by senior stand out Trudie du Toit, who is 8-2 in singles play on the year.
