LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Arizona State men's golf team is in second place with a 4-over par 292 after the first round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters in Las Vegas. Seniors Scott Pinckney and Jesper Kennegard tied for fourth and seventh, respectively, at the par-72 Southern Highlands Golf Club.

Pinckney shot a 2-under par 70 and Kennegard recorded a 1-under par 71. Junior Oscar Zetterwall and Thomas Buran each carded a 4-over par 76 to tie for 38th.

Texas A&M is in first with a 8-under par 280 and California is in third at 5-over par 293. Texas and Georgia Tech are tied for fourth at 6-over par 294.
