Some Traffic Suggestions For Super Regional At Packard This Weekend

June 11, 2010

Here's a traffic update for fans heading to Packard Stadium for this weekend's Super Regional action. Top-seeded Arizona State takes on Arkansas on Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m. A third game, if necessary, takes place Monday.

The Arizona Department of Transportation says the following Loop 202 closures will be in place this weekend, and drivers are encouraged to enter from the east and the south and to try and avoid Scottsdale Road near the 202.

EASTBOUND LOOP 202 CLOSED BETWEEN 52ND STREET AND PRIEST
Eastbound Loop 202 closed between 52nd Street and Priest Drive from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (June 14) for freeway bridge work. Drivers heading to ASU from the Phoenix area are encouraged to use alternate routes, including eastbound I-10 and US 60, to access the ASU campus. Loop 101 exits in the Tempe area will be open.

LOOP 202 RAMPS AT SCOTTSDALE ROAD WILL BE CLOSED OR RESTRICTED
The Loop 202 ramps at Scottsdale Road will be closed or restricted from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (June 14) for traffic signal replacement work. While the eastbound Loop 202 exit ramp at Scottsdale Road will allow right turns onto southbound Scottsdale Road only, drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes to reach ASU and Packard Stadium, including eastbound I-10 and US 60. Loop 101 exits in the Tempe area will be open.

SCOTTSDALE ROAD CLOSED IN BOTH DIRECTIONS, BUT A LITTLE HELP FOR BASEBALL GAME
Scottsdale Road will be closed in both directions at Loop 202 from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Sunday (June 13) for interchange improvements. Southbound Scottsdale Road will be open with one lane between 4 p.m. and midnight Saturday to help accommodate ASU Baseball traffic. However, drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes, as noted above, to access the ASU campus and Packard Stadium.
