TEMPE, Ariz. -
The day started off like any other day, breakfast, some down time, the off to the field for some pre game BP, in an out, and some warm up throwing. When we got off the bus we were welcomed by, no surprise, a lot of people. While we were walking into the stadium a number of Sun Devil fans were chanting ASU, which gave me some chills. The team went through the normal routine before BP. While I was shagging baseballs in left field I was getting my name yelled out to throw baseballs into the stands. I gave in a couple times. During in and out I normally hit fly balls to the outfielders once Stankie is done with them. Let me just say that they were phenomenal. The stadium was completely packed, over 24,000 people. One of the most intense games I have ever been a part of, was our 5-2 opening round win over North Carolina in the CWS. Spence threw a tremendous game followed up by Mitch. Having some clutch hitting doesn't hurt either. We still have work to do, and we are confident in our team from top to bottom. We're going to take it one pitch at a time and fight like hell.
This game left me so drained that I feel asleep at around 8:00 p.m. and wasn't able to submit this postcard last night...I will just blame it on the U.S. postal service!
