AT&T Behind the Sun Devils at College World Series

June 10, 2009

Phoenix -- Sun Devil Sports Marketing and AT&T* today announced a new “Behind the Team” promotion that will provide Sun Devil Nation daily text messages from Omaha, Neb. as the Arizona State University Sun Devils compete in the NCAA Men’s College World Series for the 21st time in school history and the third time in the last five seasons.

As the exclusive wireless partner for the Sun Devils, AT&T has partnered with the Voice of the Sun Devils, Tim Healey, to deliver daily text messages chronicling his experience in Omaha with the Sun Devil team. Healey will produce a “Tim’s Tidbits” message, providing fans unique information on the Devils as they prepare for a first round game vs. North Carolina in the opening round of the College World Series on June 14, as well as for each game the Sun Devils play.  Tim will also confer with Mike Rooney, color analyst for the network, to provide fans a taste of the sights and sounds of Omaha.

“AT&T is providing unique access to our fan base that is unable to make the journey to Omaha,” said Garrick Dorn, general manager for Sun Devil Sports Marketing. “Tim and Mike will be embedded with the team, which will translate into compelling material.”

AT&T will continue this platform throughout the Sun Devils’ progress in the NCAA College World Series. Devils fans wanting this unique access can text* Devils to 72645 to receive the exclusive content, breaking news and special offers.

“AT&T is proud to be partnered with Arizona State University,” said Chris Percy, vice president and general manager for AT&T’s wireless unit in the Desert Southwest Region. “We are constantly looking for ways to give our customers the very best wireless experience possible—and during the College World Series that includes real-time updates on ASU Baseball. Fans can only receive these exclusive updates on AT&T’s growing network.”

For those Sun Devil fans attending the College World Series, text alerts on important game updates presented by AT&T, the exclusive wireless partner of the NCAA, are also available. AT&T, a Corporate Champion of the NCAA, is offering the Men’s College World Series Text Alert Program for all fans, regardless of wireless provider. Through the program, fans will receive text alerts that keep them up to date on rainouts, game time changes, special autograph appearances at the AT&T Tent, team advancement, parking and other timely reminders. Fans can register for the service through short code by texting* CWS to 345345 or by visiting the Men’s College World Series Web site at www.NCAA.com or www.CWSomaha.com.

*AT&T products and services are provided or offered by subsidiaries and affiliates of AT&T Inc. under the AT&T brand and not by AT&T Inc. Text messages incur regular service charges.
