OJAI, Calif.--The Arizona State Women's Tennis team wrapped up Semifinals doubles play today, advancing sisters Laila Abdala and Nadia Abdala to the finals of Championship Doubles play.
In the Championship Semifinals, ASU duo Micaela Hein and Kelcy McKenna put up a fierce battle against USC's Amanda Fink and Gabriela Niculescu, but were unable to get the better of the Trojan duo, falling in a tough 9-7 decision. However, the Abdala sisters would emerge triumphant from their duel with Stanford's Carolyn McVeigh and Jessica Nguyen, conquering the Cardinal contenders 8-6.
Semifinal action of Invitational doubles would not prove as fruitful for the Devils however, as the lone ASU team, Michelle Brycki and Ali Van Horne were unable to catch up to a tough UCLA duo Maya Johanssen and Anna-Viktoria Lind, dropping the match 8-2.
The Finals of Championship Doubles play will take place tomorrow, April 26 at 2:00 PM in Ojai. Results will be available at www.ojaitourney.org.
